DEALER STRATEGY
Basic strategy is a system, which allows the player to play with optimum efficiency within a prescribed set of rules. Knowing basic strategy is one of the most important tools in understanding the game of
Blackjack.
The professional blackjack player will use basic strategy 9 out of 10 playing decisions. Players that want to take their studies a step further will learn to count cards.
It is important for you to be able to identify basic strategy players and card counters, If all players follow perfect basic strategy, casinos could not afford to offer Blackjack as it played now. Some casinos
change the game slightly to increase the house edge.
As with any new skill you must practice, practice, practice. Eventually basic strategy and card counting will seem much easier. In the case of floor-person, they must have a working knowledge of both. The
typical floor-person is busy with many task during the course of their shift. They will be rating players, maintaining bankrolls, handling disputes, greeting players, correcting mistakes, and that is just to name a few of the tasks.
They do
however, have time to find indicators to help in their identification of these advantage players. If a floor-person learns basic strategy, they will know quickly by observation if the guest is playing basic strategy, using a winning
progression, losing progression or a hunch.
Card counters will raise their bets when the deck is positive or favorable to them. The house, after identifying them as a counter, may shuffle when their bet spread is five or more times their original bet.
